It's on everyone's lips - will A.I. replace copywriting?

My nervous system went up a notch when all the talk about ChatGPT started circulating. And then, when it was on mainstream news here in New Zealand, I couldn't ignore it anymore; I knew I would need to give you all the low down.

Yes - ChatGPT passed the legal bar and the medical exam AND got an MBA. It can write a book in 15 minutes and spit out ten inspirational quotes to get children to eat vegetables in seconds.

BUT will it actually replace copywriters?

No.

And here's why...

People buy people.

Let's think about that - pick up a magazine, flip through it, what catches your eye? The stories, right? NOT the adverts.

What does that have to do with A.I.? They can write stories too; I hear you say.

But a story has YOUR language in it.

I don't see ChatGPT using the made-up 'in' language that I use with my girlfriends when I describe a story! But this is what gets the laughs and keeps the conversation going. This ability to connect with your audience sets your conversion copy apart from others. It's your story, your vibe and your voice!

- A.I. platforms are EXCELLENT at answering complex questions that need a precise answers - like exams.

- A.I. platforms are AMAZING at generating ideas to get the juices flowing.

- A.I. platforms are AWFUL at being you!

Google searches also punish A.I. written copy on your blogs, webpages or funnels. Google knows and will spit you out and rank you on page 1,000,000. So while you might have a website or funnel written lickity split, no one will see it!

And for these reasons - AI WILL NOT replace copywriters.
